Torture Memo Investigation

May 5, 2009 at 8:53 pm (Ethics on Torture)

This Article was on NPR and can be read here. Is this Justice? The article is about the three lawyers that were involved in the “Torture Memo”. This is an update on the 2 year investigation on the lawyers. The Three of them will be disbarred from ever working as an Attorney again. However, They will more then likely not face Criminal charges due to the lack of proof of knowingly creating an immoral ethical document concerning the treatment of detainees and the use of “Harsh Investigation” techniques. The Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich has given a draft of the case against the three Attorney’s to them and they were to review it by the 4th of May. Should they be given a chance to review the case? This is a good move I believe for the US to hold to the idea of a fair trial. Should they be held directly responsible or should there be more blame on the Administration that allowed these Memos to be used? This is a good step foreword into the direction of reclaiming some ground internationally as a Country if they are held accountable.
